I have used 18a Productions Ltd over the past 15 years for website creation , hosting and general guidance. The team are friendly, knowledgeable and excellent to work with – explaining things in simple and clear terms. Laura Greenman

I've known 18a and worked with them for many years. No-one knows more about how websites and the internet works more than they do. Now we're in the AI age, they're really up on how AI bots as well as people access and use sites.

Relationships

Our clients

We really value our relationships with our clients, so we asked a few of them how they found working with us. As we hoped, they said we're great at what we do and a pleasure to work with. But they also talked a lot about trust and integrity.

When you find someone that's good at what they do, you want to keep a hold of them.

Phil Blackmore Creative Partner, Create Health
Technical development since 2016

I really like having an agency who can push back and tell you when you're wrong.

Sophie Flynn Managing Director, Jericho Writers
Web development since 2023

They are hugely trustworthy, they're hugely capable, they understand the tech incredibly well but they can translate that and talk to real people.

FAQ

Have any questions?

How much does a website cost?

It depends on what you need. We build everything from straightforward marketing websites (which can be from £600+VAT if we just help you use a page builder) to complex membership, ecommerce and bespoke web platforms (which can be anywhere from £8,000 – £100,000+). We’ll talk through what you’re trying to achieve first, then recommend an approach and budget that makes sense. You don’t need to tell us your budget upfront, but sometimes it helps because there are lots of different ways to go about a project and we can suggest a solution that suits without wasting everyone’s time.

Can you work with our existing website?

Yes. You don’t always need to start again. We regularly take over, improve and extend existing websites, including WordPress and bespoke systems built on Laravel or CodeIgniter. We can help with anything from fixing a specific problem to gradually improving a site that still has plenty of life left in it but has developed some bug bears along the way.

Do you provide ongoing support after launch?

Yes, and many of our clients have worked with us for years for that reason. We can continue to look after the technical side of your website, make improvements, build new features and help you decide what is worth doing next. We can also just help with day to day content updates if your team don’t have time (or inclination!). You’re not left on your own once the site goes live.

What’s it like working with a small agency?

You work directly with the people designing, building and managing your project. We don’t outsource development or pass you between layers of account managers. It means we get to know your business properly and can usually give you a straight answer quickly when something needs deciding.

The part of a Stripe integration that fails without anyone noticing

I’ve spent a fair amount of time in the space between Stripe and Xero over the last few years, across several Laravel builds that take payments and keep their books in order. What strikes me about that work, looking back over it, is how differently fee handling fails compared with everything else in a payments […]
